ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A NEW APPROACH TO YOUR SCHOOL PRODUCTIONS?
CAN WE HELP YOUR STUDENTS TO DEVELOP THEIR LIFELONG LEARNING SKILLS AND EMPLOYABILITY?
Our Own The Stage programme offers a range of facilitated workshops for schools and community settings aimed at building key skills and confidence for ages 7-18. Led by our team of experienced practitioners, these workshops use theatre activities to explore teamwork, leadership, problem-solving and critical thinking.
A fixed programme of workshops are available for schools, which can be added on to other RicNic projects or operate as stand-alone projects. All can be linked to the Arts Award framework. Each workshop has a fixed format, but content can be tailored to link with curriculum topics at the request of the school.
The sessions are intended to be fully inclusive to all, regardless of their level of experience in doing drama or theatre. The majority of our workshops are delivered in settings with no arts provision and where students do not have access to many arts opportunities.
Workshops are available to book across the UK, with a limited number of subsidised projects available annually.
HOW WE DO IT
We offer a number of options and can tailor sessions to suit your needs

PLAY IN A DAY (PRIMARY)
Students create a themed theatre production in a day, exploring both performance and production elements. Exploring drama, writing, creative design etc in one session.
BE A PRODUCER TASTER SESSION

SHORT INTENSIVE COURSES

In these sessions, students are encouraged to take responsibility for specific roles within their team, using their skills and interests to fulfill the different elements required in each task.
6- 8 WEEK COURSES
Perfect for building drama into your extra curricular activities or including in the curriculum as a half term project, our longer courses begin with more intensive facilitated sessions before giving students more freedom and responsibility to develop their own performances. These courses can be tailored to your needs.
