Own the stage

Are you looking for a new approach to your school productions?

Own The Stage encourages children aged 7-13 to explore and celebrate their creativity, by challenging them to form their own theatre company and stage their own production.  From script-writing to set design, directing to dancing, students have the chance to put their own style on their school productions.

You might use it as a way of empowering your Year 6 students before they move to senior school, stage a unique fundraiser in your school, or take the opportunity to reimagine your festive school productions.

We offer a free step by step digital programme which supports students to identify their creative talents, and guides them through the process of creating their productions.  We also offer support to staff throughout the project.

Each setting is given a profile on our learning platform www.ownthestage.co.uk where they can showcase their work and connect with other Own the Stage settings across the country.

Every child records their progress in an Arts Diary and has the option to submit their work to gain an Arts Award Discover Certificate.  All settings are also invited to participate in our regular Celebration Days and 2 Minute Challenges, which provide an opportunity to applaud the work that has been achieved and to come together with other schools in the same area.

Costs: Access to the resources are free of charge to all settings.  Additional costs may apply for facilitated workshops and Arts Award certificates.Could your school class or youth group benefit from Own The Stage? Contact us to sign up and receive the free resource pack.
