To celebrate RicNic’s 21st birthday in June 2025, we intend to host a number of special events throughout 2024 and 2025. In the true spirit of birthday celebrations, our team have diligently researched different cake options across the UK and confirmed that the average slice costs in the region of £3!
Could you donate the cost of a slice of cake, to help build our operating funds for the next few years? Cash donations from individuals help to support our core and project costs and to influence our grant applications to bigger funders. Every donation of just £3 towards our birthday appeal will take us a step closer to our target of funding projects into future years.

Just £3 could enable one of our Own The Stage participants to gain an Arts Award certificate for their work, starting them on their creative career journey.

Your gift of £3 per month could enable a young Producer to take a valuable training course to support them in RicNic’s projects and beyond.
Put a cherry on top!
It costs around £90k-£100k per year to run our programmes. If you would like to top up your one-off or regular gift by any amount you will be helping us to keep RicNic alive for many young people in the future.
Treat yourself!
Raise funds for us when you shop online! Register to support us and when you shop online the retailer will pay RicNic a percentage of your spend. With gift and store card options too, you can support RicNic when buying anything from groceries to gifts, handbags to holidays – and it won’t cost you a penny!
Give Time
There are many ways that you can volunteer your time to support our work. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in volunteering or have an idea that we might not have thought of.
Here are a few ways to get involved:
Events Volunteers
Our events volunteers act as welcomers at our events and support our team at community art days. Working alongside the venue team, you will engage with the visiting audiences, chat to them about RicNic’s work and highlight how they can support us. You will have the chance to watch our productions free of charge and attend special events throughout the year. We have opportunities in Cheshire, Staffordshire, and the West Midlands.
Project Volunteers
We are always keen to hear from volunteers who can help us to elevate our project experience for our participants. You might be a keen photographer who would like to document our rehearsal or performance process, an experienced arts practitioner who could mentor an individual on our production team, or a social media expert who could help us to build our online community. It is a great way to give back, or to build experience in a sector that you are passionate about.
Fundraising Volunteers
Could you run a marathon? Could you run a bake sale? Would you do it in aid of RicNic? We are always looking for opportunities to expand our fundraising activities.
