Our Vision

A world where every young person has the confidence, tools, and platforms to shape their communities through creativity and leadership.

Our Mission

Empowering young people to create, lead, and spark change through bold, youth-driven creativity.

Our Aims

Enable Youth-Led Creative Projects – Provide children and young people with the freedom, support, and resource to imagine, design, and deliver their own creative projects from concept to completion.

Build Confident Young Leaders – Develop leadership abilities by giving young people real responsibility, meaningful ownership, and opportunities to guide their peers and teams.

Grow Essential Life & Soft Skills – Strengthen communication, collaboration, problem-solving, resilience, and creativity through hands-on, youth-driven project experiences.

Amplify Youth Voice & Agency – Ensure young people feel heard, valued, and empowered to make decisions that shape their creative work and the culture of the organisation.

Foster Community Impact & Connection – Support young people to create projects that contribute positively to their local communities, build connections, and spark social and cultural change.

Provide Inclusive, Supportive Pathways – Create safe, accessible, and welcoming spaces where every young person can grow, lead, and discover their creative potential.

RicNic now works with approximately 2000 young people each year across the UK. The majority of our existing programme and all of our plans going forward, focus on bringing opportunities to areas with limited alternative arts provision.  We are committed to opening up opportunities for young people everywhere to develop their creative potential, gain advice from professional mentors and raise their aspirations.

Our Impact

RicNic empowers young people in highly disadvantaged areas by providing safe, creative spaces where they can express themselves, build friendships, and explore their identities. Each year, we deliver projects inspiring confidence, sparking creativity, and opening up new opportunities for learning, personal growth, and future careers. Families also benefit, as our projects encourage parents to engage more creatively with their children, fostering stronger connections and shared
experience.

Our participants tell us that RicNic is:

  • A place to express themselves, learn new skills and roadtest ideas
  • A friendly space where anyone is welcome and young people feel supported to be themselves
  • A safe place to make and meet friends

Our previous participants talk about RicNic being a ‘family’ that you never really leave! We are fortunate to have many alumni who support our current programme as audience members, donors, associates, and ambassadors.  With alumni now working across many different industries, this provides us with a strong base that we can call on to support our current participants.
