RicNic Hampshire – High School Musical

RicNic Hampshire are thrilled to announce their return as a branch once again to Hangar Farm Arts Centre in Totton, Hampshire on the 10th-12th August 2023. This year their upcoming production is Disney’s ‘High School Musical’ for all the family to enjoy.

It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations and look forward to the new year. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical that is being led by Ms. Darbus. Although many students resent the threat posed to the “status quo,” Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.

RicNic is an arts charity working across the UK to give young people the opportunity to stage a full-scale musical theatre production, with the participants retaining all creative control and an extensive support network in place to guide and mentor them through this process. Everyone involved in this production, from the director, to the dancers, to the designer, to the drummer, is aged 16-22
